I remember this moment as though it just happened. I was holding my hand as close to the surface of the lake as possible. As the slow and gentle waves came to shore, they touched my hand. I was mesmerized by the feel of the water, as though it were giving me a soft little kiss.
This image comes from a video that my mom took of me with an 8 mm camera fifty-five years ago. We set up the old Bell and Howell projector and the screen. I put my professional film camera on a tripod and nested it as close as I could to the projector. As the movie reel played, I filmed. Afterwards, I was able to put the newly captured video onto my computer. It’s a treasure to me. I captured a single frame and this drawing is done from that frame.
